- In the Chinese Creation Legend a dragon who caused the Deluge by knocking down the pillars of heaven with its head, thereby showing that in China the Flood was preceded by severe earthquakes.Another version of the story makes him the commander of the tribesmen of Omei Shan, who, on being defeated in battle, tried to end his life by battering his head against the heavenly bamboo.In consequence he tore a great hole in the canopy of the sky through which the waters of the firmament poured on the earth, causing a flood.
